Why We Started Summit Circle
The outdoors are always better when shared, but finding partners who match your skill level can be surprisingly difficult. From unreliable Facebook groups to random Reddit meetups, most ways of meeting adventure partners feel inconsistent, potentially unsafe, or simply uncomfortable.
As lifelong skiers, climbers, hikers, and mountain bikers, we have often struggled to find people we could truly trust. We wanted partners who shared our desire to improve, push ourselves safely, and, most of all, have fun.
As a skier who has nearly gotten stuck in tree wells, and has dug others out, I learned firsthand how essential it is to have a reliable partner. The same truth applies to every outdoor sport. Having the right partner is not just better, it is necessary.
SummitCircle was created to solve that problem. It is a platform where people can find trustworthy partners and build genuine community along the way.
Our Vision
We’re building more than an app.
We are building a global community.
A future where:
Newcomers can enter outdoor sports with mentorship and support
Adventure partners can be found safely, transparently, and intentionally
Real friendships and long-term communities form through shared experiences
Every adventure is both safe and fun, with partners who look out for each other
An outdoor community where safety, connection, and fun guide every step forward.
Why We Created This
I grew up in Colorado, spending my life on skis, trails, and rock walls. The outdoors has always been where I feel most at home. But even with all that passion, I constantly struggled with the same problem: finding reliable partners who shared my interests and my commitment to staying safe.
Skiing made this especially clear. I’ve had close calls in tree wells and seen how quickly things can go wrong when you’re alone. And it’s the same with climbing, biking, and mountaineering—these sports are better, safer, and more meaningful with the right people by your side.
But finding those people wasn’t easy. Friends were busy, online groups felt random or unsafe, and genuine community was hard to come by.
That’s why I created Summit Circle: a platform where anyone can find trustworthy partners for the sports they love. A place built not just for meetups, but for real community, real friendships, and safer adventures.
That’s the heart of Summit Circle: a place where adventure becomes safer, connection becomes easier, and the outdoors becomes something we share again.
Meet the Founders
-
FounderI’m a Colorado native who grew up on skis, and somewhere between high school and college I fell in love with climbing, mountain biking, and long days on the trail. The outdoors has always been where I feel most alive, and I’m constantly looking toward what’s next, whether that’s backcountry skiing, paragliding, speed flying, or maybe even base jumping someday.
More than anything, I care about bringing people together. Some of my best memories and friendships were built outside, and I’ve also had plenty of days where I wished I had a reliable partner to go with. That’s why I’m building this: a platform where people can find like-minded adventurers, share real experiences, and build the kind of community that lasts.

Co-FounderGrowing up in Arizona, I had never skied a day in my life, but running cross country sparked my love for the outdoors and time on the trails. When I moved to Colorado in 2020 for college, my roommates convinced me to try snowboarding, and after that one day on the mountain, I haven’t looked back. I fell in love with everything about it — falling in the fluffy snow, being surrounded by incredible nature, slowly learning something that felt impossible at first, and of course, finally taking off my boots at the end of the day — but what I loved most was sharing that experience with people I cared about and loved.
Some of the best days I’ve ever had outdoors have been with amazing people, but I’ve also had days where I wished I had someone alongside me. That feeling stuck with me, and it’s why my goal is to make it as easy as possible for people who love the outdoors to connect with others who feel the same way. Even helping form one real connection would be a huge success to me, which is why I’m so excited to be building this platform — a place where connections are made, bonds are formed, and communities grow.

Looking Ahead
We are thinking big. Summit Circle is meant to become much more than a way to find partners. We envision a global community connected across every outdoor sport, supported by local meetups, volunteer projects, and partnerships with groups that protect the places we love. In the future, we hope to offer group trips, mentorship programs, and international adventures, all built on one simple belief: the outdoors is always better when we experience it together.
